Bahls Modelleisenbahnen surprisingly presented the "Elephant" of the SBB as a steam locomotive novelty 2022 in Altenbeken.


At the 8th International Z-gauge Weekend in Altenbeken, Bahls Modelleisenbahnen came up with a surprise novelty. The SBB's C 5/6 "Elephant" tender steam locomotive was presented there. The model, made almost entirely of brass and nickel silver parts, has LED top lighting, real coal support in the tender, a very fine and fully movable detailed gear system and - for the first time on a scale of 1:220 - an equipped driver's cab. The special running gear with different axle distances of the five coupled axles posed high design challenges.
