Black gold thanks to Trafofuchs

DM-Toys / Modellbahn Union offers a beautiful coal mine that, like earlier N gauge industrial buildings, can easily be used on a 1:220 scale. NoBa-Modelle has designed the rolling stock for it, Laffont Modellbau will produce the historic Dortmund-Kurl station building (near the former Courl colliery), and Archistories such as Artitec has recently released building kits that also belong to the former everyday culture of the Ruhr area.

At the Trainini Anniversary Exhibition 2025, Trafofuchs also presented its contribution to the product theme ‘Black Gold’ as a new autumn release: the figure sets ‘Einfahrende Bergleute’ (miners entering the mine) in clean white and ‘Ausfahrende Bergleute’ (miners leaving the mine) with dirty clothes and bodies each comprise six figures in mining clothing and different postures. All figures were created, painted and optimised under the expert guidance of a former miner to perfectly match their historical models. As usual, Trafofuchs worked with CAD design and output on a 3D printer. The painting of the figures was demonstrated on site.
