Märklin: Class 52 up to date

The former Class 52 war locomotive with a trough-type tender has also been refurbished and is now up to date. The new model arrived at dealers a few days ago.

The Class 52 tender-type steam locomotive (item no. 88837) is now available in its early Bundesbahn livery (Era III). The locomotive is well printed, including warning arrows on the sandboxes, and bears the full lettering “Deutsche Bundesbahn”. Featuring LED lighting, a bell-armature motor, replicas of the brakes and sand pipes, as well as full detail control, it has now also undergone a product update.

As part of this, Märklin has also fitted it with window inserts for the side and rear windows of the driver’s cab. The closed sliding window on the wartime driver’s cab suggests cold days or a locomotive parked in the depot. Anyone wishing to see a window slid open here – and perhaps fit a driver leaning out – can remove the clear insert and trim it down.
