Märklin novelty at the turn of the month
- Created by Redaktion
Like the previous club model, the double diesel locomotive 288 002-9 a/b of the Deutsche Bundesbahn (item no. 88151) also reproduces the version after conversion to Maybach engines without a roof attachment and with four sandboxes per side and locomotive half. It is also painted purple-red again, but unlike its sister locomotive, it does not have a black contrasting frame - this made it possible to distinguish the prototypes from afar.
This model for Era IV also has a replica of the engine room including interior lighting, drive by bell-type armature motors and direction-dependent lighting with warm white and red LEDs. Different coupling rods for different radii are also included and allow the distance between the locomotive halves to be kept as close as possible and safe to operate.
