Modern traction at Märklin
- Created by Holger Späing
Both deliveries from Märklin these days are intended for Era VI. The first is the Vectron (Class 193) as the Flixtrain's locomotive (item no. 88239). This is a replica of a pure AC version, which is why the model only has two pantographs and required modified roof cables. Otherwise, the attractively painted and harmonious model is technically identical to its predecessors. The matching passenger coaches are still pending.
The second delivery in the first week of December is the 111 074 from DB-Gebrauchtzug (88423). This locomotive was given the design of the former tourist train and is used in reversible train service. Here, too, the double-decker carriages with the same design are still missing for the time being. The locomotive model also follows the previous variants of this series in technical terms, but has round buffers in prototypical blue paintwork and – it should be explicitly mentioned – no red tail lights.
