Top secret: NATO wagon

We have only learnt about a very special and so far unique special wagon in Z gauge from informants. We are sharing the little we know with our readers today.

With its 2030 Initiative, NATO aims to strengthen the transatlantic defence alliance politically and militarily, increase its resilience to threats and expand partnerships worldwide.

By 2030, deterrence against Russia and China, which do not share our values, innovation in defence technologies, climate protection measures and the promotion of transatlantic unity are to be driven forward.

This strategy has also been incorporated into the 1:220 scale, as we learnt exclusively. After all, the military goods required to protect the member states must also be transported on a small scale.

For this purpose, the Western defence alliance has licensed a special freight wagon (item no. 8617.153), produced and printed by Märklin, in a one-off edition of 101 individually numbered units. It also focuses on the 75th anniversary of NATO and is therefore printed differently and elaborately on both sides.

The ‘Märklin bicycle’ as the originator's trademark, which is so important for collectors, is only printed on one side on the left-hand side of the wagon in this case, which has only ever been done once in the history of original advertising wagons.

The roof of the container wagon was also printed: #WEARENATO (‘We are NATO’). In accordance with the required level of secrecy, further information and orders can be placed by contacting the dedicated address nato.wagen8617[at]gmail.com.
