In July, the spotlight is on the SBB’s RAe TEE II, whether as a model produced by Märklin or as the real-life prototype. And if you could do with a bit of a cool-down on hot days, you’re in for a treat too: we’re bringing winter back a little early...

Märklin made a surprise announcement in the summer of 2025 regarding the SBB’s RAe TEE II. Behind this lies a collaboration with AZL, which also intends to offer this train under its secondary brand, SZL. We have taken a very close look at this new release, which is actually not a typical Märklin model. After all, the Trans-Europ-Express is an international and popular phenomenon in the world of model railways. That is why we are also presenting the prototype in a fitting manner.

Meanwhile, we’re continuing work on our winter layout, which forms part of our beginners’ series. Here, we’re getting creative and demonstrating some craftsmanship before we go on to prepare part of the electrical equipment. Our literary recommendations focus on sophisticated titles as well as entertaining yet educational summer reading.
