What is T-Trak-Z?
- Created by Holger Späing
T-Trak modules are an idea that originated in the N scale and found many enthusiasts. Modules require a standard in terms of size, width, position of the track lines, the transition and the electrical connection. In this case, it was very simple, as the standard was based on a ballast track system, as offered by Kato and Tomytec. The length of the modules is based on their geometry, no special electrics are required and this idea simply uses the manufacturers' rail connectors as a transition.
Compared to other module standards, this one relies on quite small and manageable system parts that are not placed on feet but on tables. This also eliminates the need to define a stand height.
Since Rokuhan offers a comparable track system for the Z gauge, it was only logical to transfer this module standard to the 1:220 scale. The result is called T-Trak-Z and is offered by TrainSetter in Germany with various surfaces (railway embankment, cut or level / track and curve modules). We received three modules with a railway embankment, each 33 cm long, so that we could present this idea in more detail. The second product picture shows how the wooden parts are delivered and the scope of this delivery set. They will also be available to see and touch at our Trainini Anniversary Exhibition 2025 at the beginning of October.
