Märklin: Deliveries at the start of summer
- Created by Holger Späing
The celebrations can begin, as Märklin has just delivered its special Class 101 “Party on!” model (item no. 88666) to mark the anniversary of the W:O:A 2026 in Wacken. The attractively designed model features digitally printed graphics and incorporates the latest technical specifications. It is also delivered to buyers in special packaging.
More conventional is the DB Class 01 express steam locomotive (88015) for Era IIIa: with large Wagner air deflectors, Bundesbahn lettering, buffer plate warning paint and boiler rings, it represents the condition of the locomotive in the early post-war years. The prototype from Braunschweig depot was later fitted with a new boiler. Although intended for the ‘Blauer Enzian’ long-distance express train, this model is an excellent match for the 1928–1930-type express carriages.
Also now available from retailers are the Gl 11 “Tannenzäpfle” covered goods wagon (82260) and the two DR tank wagons from VEB Deutzen (82524), modelled on a Soviet design, which, due to their striking appearance, are sure not to be overlooked on layouts based on German designs.
