Trainini Anniversary Exhibition 2025

See you in Wasserkurl...

In August 2025, our magazine will celebrate its 20th anniversary. And we want to celebrate this milestone with you! We would like to take a look back with you at what has happened during this time, what has shaped us and the Z gauge, but also look forward to the future with optimism. The final preparations are now in full swing and we are in dialogue with all those involved and our partners.

Together with them, we are organising the Trainini Anniversary Exhibition 2025 on 4 and 5 October 2025 (set-up day: 3 October 2025). This will be a celebration of model railways, technology and the history of technology as well as everyday culture. Our visitors can look forward to exciting layouts with some premieres, special highlights of model building, historical and modern vehicles in a suitable setting, hands-on activities, technical discussions and a specialist lecture ‘Do you understand railway stations?’, which will provide some humorous insights into railway German and its technical abbreviations.

In the model railway area, we will deliberately not only present the Z gauge - so we are also explicitly inviting our non Z gauge readers. The rock band Streetkings from Dortmund has also announced a brief visit to our magazine with musical congratulations. But these will not be the only surprises. Märklin and smaller suppliers will also be taking part with their models - but there will be no sales on site.

On both days of the event, we will be giving away three children's railway books, donated by EK Medien (Eisenbahnkurier), to children who successfully complete the ‘shunting diploma’. Meanwhile, adults have the chance to win one of five railway books, offered by Heel-Verlag, in a reader photo competition.

For exhibitors and other interested parties (the latter subject to availability), there will also be an evening programme on 3 and 4 October with a railway theme. All those present are sure to take home ideas for their own projects.

The exhibition can be reached by car or via the Kamen-Methler stop on the Rhine-Ruhr Express RRX (approx. 400 metres on foot). Our central host will be the Sprachhof (Hohes Feld 6, 59174 Kamen, Wasserkurl district), and the AWO Family Centre will also be integrated within sight, where, in addition to hands-on activities for children, there will also be an extensive presentation of fire brigade model building. Our information will be continuously updated until the event.
