Märklin club model 2025

Märklin has announced the 2025 club models. The class 628.2 / 928.2 diesel railcar (item no. 88700) is to be released for the Z scale. This Deutsche Bahn AG vehicle is painted traffic red in Era V and is a completely new design. The running gear is made of metal-filled plastic, the superstructure of plastic. Together, this should ensure a high weight and good tractive power.

The locomotive is driven by a bell-type armature motor, and the head and tail lighting, which is dependent on the direction of travel, is generated by LEDs. The driver's cabs are also modelled and the interior is indicated and illuminated accordingly. Märklin emphasises for the first time that the model is equipped with a buffer capacitor. A very high level of detail and a fine and elaborate colour scheme and lettering are also promised. Together, this speaks in favour of a solid product that adds an attractive model to the previously rather weak portfolio of railcars.
