The Gold Bonnet from AZL

  • Created by Holger Späing

AZL delivered a special locomotive at the beginning of March, which is unfortunately already sold out from the factory. We present it briefly.

The ALCO PA1 of the ATSF (Item No. 64425) with the road number 53 was part of a General Electric advertising train and received a design in the Warbonnet scheme, but deviating with gold as the main colour. In February 1960 it was in the livery shown here with one baggage car and three parlour cars between Los Angeles, Pasadena, San Bernardino, Fullerton and San Diego before returning to the Rgeldoenst and again receiving a similar livery. American Z Line pays tribute to this special and appealing diesel locomotive with a model that is already sold out at the factory and at most dealers.
