Trainini 4/2025 (German Edition): old and new worlds

The new issue is perhaps one of contrasts: old and new, digital and analogue. Among other things, we look at the DR's ‘electricity container’ and the coexistence of analogue and digital model railway operation.

The DR class 250, known throughout Germany as the 155, fascinates railway enthusiasts and model railway enthusiasts alike. Not exactly an icon of design language, but once ubiquitous and reliable. We present a model of it in detail and also provide you with the appropriate modelling literature. Meanwhile, an enthusiastic reader reports on his experiences with Dinamo, which promises parallel operation of analogue and digital vehicles.

We are still enthusiastic about the car ferry from Artitec, to which we have dedicated a diorama that is still under construction. However, it is also suitable for a small layout of a special character, as we can prove. Conceptually matching suggestions, albeit of a different kind, were presented at On traXs in Utrecht in March. We will also be reporting from there and in parallel on Trainini TV. Our second literature suggestion fits in with what there is to see in the railway museum apart from the model railway.
